Welcome to the Post-Apocalyptic Wasteland Of BEDLAM

Fans of 80’s sci-fi pop-culture, and turn-based strategies like The Banner Saga and XCOM need look no further than Skyshine Games’ BEDLAM – a post-apocalyptic roguelike RPG.

You take the role of the mysterious Mechanic, the last known member of a guild that invented, controlled, and traveled via Dozers – an enormous vehicle covered in armor and weapons made to travel through Bedlam. As the Mechanic, you command a crew on your journey through the wasteland to a rumored utopian city called Aztec City. Nevertheless, you get one chance and one crew to make it.

The game features permanent consequences; when a crew member dies, they’re not coming back. Every time you play through the campaign, areas, environments, and encounters will be completely different. Created with the same game engine used in Stoic’s The Banner Saga, BEDLAM features a “carnage-filled chess” battle system as described by the developers. The player will not be limited to the crew member they choose to act in battle, and can also call in strikes from the Dozer.

BEDLAM’s art is amazingly hand-illustrated, extremely reminiscent of the artist Geof Darrow (Hard Boiled, Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot), and the 70’s-80’s sci-fi magazine Heavy Metal.

Skyshine Games have launched a $130,000 Kickstarter Campaign (visit it here), aiming to make a very high production quality game. Visit the official website and follow them on Twitter for more information.
