Voxel Rogue Like The Forgettable Dungeon Enters Final Week on Kickstarter

Upopa Games Studio released Hopeless: The Dark Cave on iOS and Android in 2013. Although the game’s protagonists are cute, yellow blobs, the game was a horror title that was difficult to master.

Huddled in a limited circle of light clutching guns, the blobs could be instructed to shoot huge, hideous monsters by tapping the screen. However, the thing coming out of the darkness wasn’t always an enemy, but sometimes another blob coming to join the team. Trying to avoid shooting friends was half the battle in Hopeless: The Dark Cave, which was downloaded by over 500,000 players.

Now Upopa are releasing a sequel. Hopeless 2: Cave Escape retains the original format but transports the action onto a fast moving mine cart. With challenging gameplay, dynamic movement, and full range shooting, the game is available for free now.

Upopa describe their games as having “unusual stories, loveable characters, and a certain dark sense of humor.” The studio was founded in 2013 by a three person team, and in just one year its games have been downloaded over 4,000,000 times.

Hopeless: Cave Escape is available on the Google Play Store for free. It will be released on iOS by the end of the month. For more information check out Upopa’s website, Facebook, or Twitter.
