Kwan Brings Exogenesis ~Perils of Rebirth~ To Kickstarter

Visual novel games have entered the hearts of many as a unique way of playing a game and telling an intricate story. The team at Kwan agrees with this, considering their love for games like Zero Escape and Ace Attorney. But these games aren’t regularly published, and many fans have to wait several years before one is created and translated for English audiences. That’s where Kwan and Exogenesis ~Perils of Rebirth~ comes in, to fill the void of visual novel games.

To start off, Exogenesis is not a dating simulator. It is a dynamic and branching story that follows the character Yuudai Sayashi through a post-apocalyptic Tokyo in 2069. Once the leader of a treasure hunting group called Durchhalten, he has since traveled alone when one expedition led to the tragic death of his sister, Miho. Now, two years after the event, Yuudai knows of a way that could bring his sister back to life, but there are many trials and moral choices that need to be made along the way. Besides avoiding the new dangers of the world, ranging from crazed survivors to power-hungry religious organizations, Yuudai must bring together his old team of treasure hunters for one last find.

Exogenesis promises to be a dark story with a cast of highly unique and memorable characters. Death is a common theme, and you never know when someone you know and care about will pass on, or when Yuudai might be responsible for that death in some indirect way.

Exogenesis is currently on Kickstarter until May 22. Kwan has released a demo on their campaign page, and is set to bring this game to as many platforms as possible, starting with PC. Stretch goals include a faster process towards multi-platform releases, as well as more moving characters, voice acting, and other opportunities for an immersive experience.
