IGM Forum Finds: Grand Class Melee 2

An overhead party brawler from Gigatross, Grand Class Melee 2 pits players against one another in a variety of arenas, with a number of magical abilities players can use to smite their friends in a 2-D, 8-bit party game that’s reminiscent of Super Smash Bros. in some ways. They’re currently in open beta, and have also recently begun their journey toward release via Steam Greenlight.

There are currently over 60 classes and abilities available to play, 8 rounds of fighting per match, and an add-on system of abilities that helps players build a unique character. After each round, choose another ability to combine with those you’ve used in previous rounds to make your character more lethal and win the battle! (There is also the option to play against AI, so single-player is possible, if desired.) With 4 unique biomes and random, procedurally-generated levels, no two matches are the same, adding a further “rogue-like” element to this already multi-faceted game. The fully customizable scoring and team systems allow you to play in a variety of ways. Currently, the game has only local PvP, but they’re aiming for online multiplayer with the Steam release, as well as a survival mode (players defend against waves of enemies) and practice mode (where players can try out different character classes and abilities to get a feel for them).

For more information, visit the Gigatross Games website, follow them on Twitter, or like their Facebook page. You can also visit the original forum post for updates, as well.

You can join the closed beta by sending them an email, and if you like what you see, be sure to vote for them on Steam Greenlight!
