The Witcher 4 Release Date, Trailer, News and Rumors
The Witcher 3 was considered to be one of the top RPG games of all time. With an amazing game world, lots of extraordinary locations and an incredible story. It really entered the hall of fame of gaming very fast. And the cool thing about the game is that it also had some great expansions too. What you do need to keep in mind is that they work on Cyberpunk 2077 at this time. So if there will be a The Witcher 4 game, that’s quite a long way out for the time being. That doesn’t mean it will never arrive, but we can expect The Witcher 4 to take a while before it does.
What is The Witcher 4 release date?
We don’t even know if The Witcher 4 will ever arrive. Even if they are working on it right now we might expect it to take many years. And since they said Geralt is out, we might end up having to wait quite a lot of time until this is fully done and ready to go.
Right now CD Project Red is all about making sure that their current project, Cyberpunk 2077 is the best that it can be. That’s still an RPG, but it’s coming with a first-person perspective. And some other changes to the recipe they brought until this time with The Witcher series. That sounds ok anyway, but it shows that they are not afraid to bring in cool new ideas. Maybe even some innovation into the mix sooner rather than later. It’s hard to know the release date for The Witcher 4 and that’s because the current project is not coming until 2020 in May.
And that means a few more years of development for The Witcher 4. As a result, we can expect the game to come around 2024-2025 at the earliest. As you can imagine, the game is a long way off, and that’s because they are still working hard on a project and there might be yet another project on the way. It’s nice that they are committed to such games in the long run. But then again this means challenges can arise and with requirements being more and more comprehensive. We can expect Witcher 4 to take many years to develop. Just like The Witcher 3 requested many years until it was completed.
It all comes down to one thing. You will have to wait a lot of time and effort until you reach the results you expect. And in the end, the outcome will be great and people will be happy. But as we mentioned earlier, it’s expected for a game like The Witcher 4 or Cyberpunk 2077 to take a lot of time to develop. These are games with a twisted, complex narrative and they are also visually impressive. Which means there’s a lot of work to put into such a project. The payoff alone will be very exciting and impressive at the same time. Yes, this is a tricky thing to pull off. But if you do it right then everyone will enjoy the results and the experience will be nothing short of extraordinary.
CD Project RED still values the IP
The Witcher 4 is not the only game that people expect from this. They did release Gwent and Thronebreaker, two games that are set in The Witcher universe. So it’s quite easy to see that they are actually interested in the series and the world itself. And while it might take a bit of time to actually deliver the type of experience people want, we do expect them to not leave The Witcher series be. Just because Geralt is not coming back, that doesn’t mean the game series is over. If anything, any other person in the world can become a hero, and that can be an amazing story.

At this point, it all comes down to the company whether they want another The Witcher game with this license or not. If we check from a legal standpoint, they did have some problems with the novel creator for The Witcher. So obviously that thing alone is set to be quite problematic. But if you get past that you will find that The Witcher is a fabled, amazing series and one with a huge amount of potential. Whether they will actually fulfill the potential or just push it away and not deal with any legal hassle, that remains to see.
If The Witcher 4 is already in development, then that’s most likely water under the bridge. But then again, any other problems can arise. We know that The Witcher 4 will eventually come, yet we don’t know what story they want to add. What ideas they are bringing to the table and so on. It can end up being very good, people trust CD Project RED and even if it will take a while, it will most likely be good. And that’s what really matters when it comes to any game.
What we can expect from The Witcher 4?
The first thing we can expect is the same third-person gameplay. We will also have magic infused signs, tons of loot, sword combat, maybe even more melee options and so on. There might even be a lot of focus on crafting too, something that the previous games didn’t really focus on that much. As for the game world, it’s anyone’s guess. But the book lore is so impressive that the options themselves are limitless.
One thing is certain, if The Witcher 4 does come out, it will be one of the biggest RPGs of all time. whether it will arrive before The Elder Scrolls 6 or not, that remains to be seen. We believe it will arrive after TES 6 however, as that game was already announced and The Witcher 4 is still at the speculation level. But it’s a very good series and one that shouldn’t go to waste!
