Uber Rock Out Time In ‘Meteör’; An Impressive Student Project

After a busy 4 month semester, students at the Games Academy Berlin have rounded up the prototype of their “musical survival game” Meteör and it has left us quite impressed.

 

At its very basic, Meteör is a third person shooter. At it’s most exciting, it is a uber rock, guitar-gun adventure of various proportions. The story goes that you’re part of a rock band whose tour bus has broken down on a planet – yes, it’s a space ship. The mission is to collect parts so the bus can be repaired and you and the band can make your merry way out of there.

 

Unfortunately the parts are scattered around the planet and the natives aren’t happy with your presence. Luckily, each bandmember’s instrument is linked to his gun, so when you blast away at the aliens, “an ever-changing blend of sounds and unique tracks come together as every player levels up individually.”

 

Well it’s different, you must admit that. The student team plan on polishing Meteör up until it’s something they are really proud of. For now you can check out some neat footage below:
