The Rivers of Alice: Extended Version arrives on the Wii U

After a successful release on iOS devices, Delirium Studios has announced The Rivers of Alice: Extended Version for the Wii U. The surreal point-and-click adventure has been around since 2013, when it received awards from critics and Apple itself, such as one of the best of the App Store. Designed alongside an indie-rock group called Vetusta Morla and the artist Ane Pikaza, Alice’s new adventure is also hand-animated and features over 1500 illustrations.

The developers call their game “a journey of self-discovery and enlightenment.” Players control Alice, the protagonist, during her sleep and dreams. While asleep, she confronts her biggest everyday problems and fears, which are represented as individual characters that interact with her, like sloth, envy, and dishonesty. As the mechanics take inspiration from classic point-and-click adventures, the game is filled with puzzles ready to be solved.

These puzzles help Alice to understand the details and hidden thoughts that lie deep within her subconscious. Besides being inside her own dreams, Alice is always portrayed as a black and white girl in a colorful world.

The Rivers of Alice: Extended Version is already available for the Wii U at the e-Shop for $7.99. The original version, available for iOS and Android devices, can be found at the App Store for $4.99 or Google Play for $5.99. For any further information, visit the game’s official website and follow the developers on Twitter for updates.
