‘The Binding Of Isaac’ Hits 500K Copies Sold

Edmund McMillen has revealed that the roguelike he made with Florian Himsl, The Binding of Isaac, has hit 500k sales altogether.

One of Edmund McMillen’s hobbies, so it seems, is answering fan questions which he does very often on his Formspring account. In his latest round of quickfire answers he was asked, “What was your most successful game in terms of popularity / copies sold?”

His answer revealed that The Binding of Isaac has hit the nice round figure of 500k sales. This is not his most successful game though, that title belongs to Super Meat Boy which we know hit 1 million copies sold not too long ago. Edmund confirms that this figure has now risen to 1.2 million copies of Super Meat Boy sold. Edmund said that Gish has also hit the 300k mark for copies sold.

If you are one of those 500k people then you should know that we’re expecting a big update for the game shortly, hopefully by the end of this month.

The Binding of Isaac is available for PC on Steam and you can get the Unholy Edition with lots of extra goodies.

You can find out more information on The Binding of Isaac on the game’s official Steam page.
