Restore Light Across 9 Norse Worlds in Eitr

Eitr is an isometric adventure RPG by London-based studio, Eneme Entertainment.  Conceptualized from Norse mythology, Eitr is a vicious black poison that corrupts whatever and whoever comes in contact with it. Darkness consumes 9 Norse worlds after the tree Yggdrasil (the connector of the worlds) becomes poisoned by Eitr. It is now up to Shield Maiden to restore light to the Yggdrasil.

At first glance, Eitr has a pixel art-style reminiscent of SuperBrothers: Swords & Sworcery EP, and gameplay mechanics in the likes of Demon’s Souls. The female protagonist, Shield Maiden, crawls through dungeons, fending off giant rat-like creatures, armored skeletons, and other gaunt figures done in wonderfully stylized pixel art-fashion.

Wielding sword and shield, each attack consumes stamina and will require quick strategizing on the player’s part to know when to pull back. You’re also given a quick dash ability, allowing you to dodge away from groups of enemies or projectile attacks. To put your life at stake, every time you die the game will randomly take something away, like a percentage of the experience you’ve gained.

Eitr is currently in development for PC with plans to port the adventure to Mac and Linux, but there is no planned release date yet for the game. For more information on Eneme Entertainment, you can follow them on Twitter and Like them on Facebook.
