Now Legally Binding: New ‘Binding of Isaac’ Expansion Coming 28th May

Well, you can’t say it hasn’t been coming. A couple of weeks ago, the elegant Edmund McMillen announced that Wrath of the Lamb, the predictably sanguinary expansion to his 2011 hit, The Binding of Isaac, would be coming in late May. Now, though, the shroud of mystery has been lifted and we can confirm that the $3 downloadable content will be available from Monday 28th May.

If the information contained with the image above weren’t explicit enough, Wrath of the Lamb will pump 50% more content into Isaac‘s vanilla version, bringing more than ten new bosses, four chapters, 100 new items and a brand new ending in tow. Of course, there’ll also be more Steam achievements if that’s the way you roll.

Wasn’t that dramatic? And pretty amusing, naturally. Even though the trailer hasn’t exactly given us any real gameplay footage to sink our teeth into, it’s clear that the wonderfully dark humour of the original game is there in spades, and that’s reason enough for many Isaac aficionados to give it a good, hard look. Whichever way the cookie crumbles, expect more of what made The Binding of Isaac one of the most popular indie titles of the last few years, and that’s exactly why we’re jacked up and ready for action.
