Marvel’s Avengers Unveiled at E3 2019 Complete with Story Trailer
The long-awaited Marvel’s Avengers has finally been announced. Initially unveiled at Square Enix’s E3 2019 press conference, the game is a collaboration between several high-profile studios. These include Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, Crystal Northwest, and Nixxes Software. Most companies give gamers a little tease when first revealing a new game. Not Square Enix. The company went all the way and showcased a near story trailer alongside the announcement.
Not Quite the Same Characters We Know From the Movies
Marvel’s Avengers seems to take place in the same (or at least a similar) universe as the MCU movies. Popular superheroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, and the Hulk are all here. However, they look a bit different when compared to their big-screen counterparts. The in-game characters aren’t voiced by the Hollywood actors we all know and love either. That’s a bit disappointing but not unexpected. After all, hiring the likes of Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans would have probably cost a fortune.
The story of Marvel’s Avengers beings with the unveiling of the team’s HQ in San Francisco. In addition to their official headquarters, The Avengers also reveal their hi-tech helicarrier The same one we see in the movies. As it’s often the case with these things, however, the celebration doesn’t last long. A catastrophic accident swiftly destroys the helicarrier and causes massive devastation to the surrounding area. The Avengers end up getting blamed for the tragedy and disband. That doesn't last long, though, because the world calls up them again to fight against a new threat.
