Insanity’s Blade Makes the Leap to Steam

Despite a few issues that I brought up in my review, I really enjoyed playing Insanity’s Blade. Those issues haven’t been ignored by Causal Bit Games, and the developer has already been hard at work fixing those problems, releasing a much tighter version of it on Steam. Cleaning up most of the problems I had with the game, it’s a great release that’s just in time to give to that special bloody action platformer lover in your life this Holiday season.

Issues with slowdown have been cleaned up significantly in the newest release, with some changes made to boost performance as well as calm down some of the over-the-top enemy explosions. The save system has also been made more visible, as have many other menu options, such as the co-op mode that allows you to take a friend with you to the depths of hell. It’s also more obvious that you can change the musical score from 8-bit to 16-bit modes, depending on your audio preference. Did I also mention that this build makes those crushing traps visible when retracted in most areas?

Overall, the Steam release cleans up a lot of the small issues that could deter players from it. Having already enjoyed the game quite a bit despite those problems, it’s become very easy to recommend this build of the game for anyone who loves ridiculous action games.

Insanity’s Blade is available for $6.99 on Steam. To learn more about its developer, you can check out their website, or follow them on IndieDB, Facebook, and Twitter.
