‘Pengi and the Polar Pirates’ Proudly Protects Penguins
People perpetuate a passion for penguins. Prim and proper in their pristine profiles, pronounced on a polychromatic planet, penguins are positively pleasing. Paradoxically, the precious polar population is precariously perched in a perilous predicament.
Pengi and the Polar Pirates, a pixellated program to play on pocket platforms, postulates the possibility of protecting penguins for posterity. Players’ purchasing power can propel the praiseworthy project to prosperity, so please, pardon the proliferation of P words and permit a presentation of publicity for this penguin proposal.
*coughs* Sorry, I got carried away.
Pengi and the Polar Pirates is an adorable game from Noor Studios. The Polar Pirates are a problematic pack of pests who are terrorizing the South Pole. Pengi, the player character, is the last hope of penguinkind to stop the marauding ne’er-do-wells. Swim, slip, and slide through frozen landscapes, armed only with snowballs, wit, and whatever you find along the way. Fight the pirates when you encounter them, and save your brethren!
Download the game (name your own price) here, for Windows, Mac, and Linux. But while the developers were bringing the game to fruition, the news was released that penguins are now considered an endangered species due to the melting sea ice. So they decided to take part in the effort to protect penguin purlieus. Pengi and the Polar Pirates is available to purchase for Android devices, for just $1.99 USD, and they have promised to donate 50% of their proceeds from the game toward adopting and protecting penguins. They plan to release for iOS devices in September.
They’ve announced their project on Prefundia and will be shortly launching a Kickstarter. They hope to raise enough money to do things like release the game in multiple languages, which would enable more people to purchase the game and, by so doing, contribute to the penguin preservation project. Sign up at the Prefundia page to be alerted to the launch of the Kickstarter and other important parts of the endeavor. You can also follow Noor Studios on Facebook and Twitter for announcements, and be sure to share the news of penguin preservation through playful preoccupation (sorry) with your friends.
