Shadow of Nebula: Journey Through an Emotionally-driven Sci-fi World

The year is 3102, and humanity’s technological progress has gone astoundingly well. So well, that a genius named Alfred Nebula was able to travel through the Milky Way with an expedition of fellow scientists, and uncover obsolete alien technology that no human had ever laid eyes upon. Alfred deciphered it, channeling its power into the creation of specialized nanobots that possessed the ability to heal the human body, but also the ability to alter mood and thought. Horrified at his accidental discovery, Alfred destroys his studies and prototype, believing that all traces of the deadly invention were gone. Shadow of Nebula, an up-coming sci-fi point-and-click adventure, follows the unraveling of events thirty years later.

Currently in development, Shadow of Nebula features a deep and emotional story that is pitted against the clamor of cyberbunk, spaceships, and a whole lot of puzzles. The Polish developers at Bisonia revealed their influences for the game include Beneath a Steel Sky, DIG, and The Curse of Monkey Island. Their goal is to “give the game a soul” which makes Shadow of Nebula a mature, memorable, and unforgettable experience. The hand-drawn art style promises to be a huge selling point, with almost one-hundred screens planned for the final version of the game.

Shadow of Nebula has been successfully Greenlit on Steam, and is currently on Kickstarter where it is seeking funding to acquire professional voice overs and additional language support. Shadow of Nebula is planned for release on PC, Mac, Linux, and possibly Android. You can follow the game on Twitter, or like it on Facebook for the latest gravity-defying updates. What do you think about Shadow of Nebula? Let us know in the comments!
