Award Winning Horror Title, ‘The Maze’, Available For Free
Coming in from a very unknown part of the development world, Sri Lanka-based 4250 Games recently won the country’s first ever development competition called Cruncher 2011 with their game The Maze. This 2D horror title is now available to play for free, if you have the nerve.
The Maze is a top-down horror/escape game about a near-death experience; Death Himself challenges you to break free from an underworld made of 25 dark levels, the reward being your life. It features pseudo-random level selection, so each playthrough will be different, as well as superb tracks by Kieron Furber and NemesisTheory. Essentially you play as a spectre wandering around the maze avoiding deadly shadows, in what becomes a mixture of deja-vu and scrapes with a more permanent type of death.
The developers were very excited to have their game featured on YoYo Games recently, following up from the success at Cruncher 2011. You can download the game for free over at YoYo Games and see what all the fuss is about for yourself, just click the link below to be taken to the download page.
You can find out more information about The Maze over at the developer’s very thorough development blog.
