IGM Limelight – ‘Cook, Serve, Delicious!’
Hello fellow Greenlighters, and welcome back to IGM Limelight. The daily column dedicated to finding the best games on Steam Greenlight.
In the Limelight today is Vertigo Game’s new hardcore restaurant simulator Cook, Serve, Delicious! This is a game where the player controls everything from customer happiness, management, restaurant cleanliness, to the cooking of the food itself. Every action is done in real time, and has different controls for completing it.
As an example of gameplay, burgers require you to tap the order number and wait for it to cook. While cooking other orders can be made, but if you wait too long your current burger will burn. Once you overcome this fiasco and your burger is ready (not burnt), you then have to choose which toppings the customer asked for. If you say too many of the wrong toppings, they will not pay and give the restaurant negative reviews.
This may seem easy enough to those who haven’t played Cook, Serve, Delicious. However when you have a constant flow of customers about to walk out from waiting too long, each wanting a different item done in a different way, it becomes really easy to mess up an order.
It is the fast paced, quick thinking gameplay that makes me want to see Cook, Serve Delicious on Steam. If you don’t want to wait for Greenlight, you can buy Cook, Serve Delicious or play the demo on the game’s website.
So Greenlighters! Go forth and Greenlight Cook, Serve, Delicious, if it looks interesting enough (spoilers: it does). You can follow the developer on Twitter or their development blog.
Developers! If you have a game you’ve developed that is on Greenlight, and you would like to see it in an IGM Limelight article, post a thread on our forums! I can’t wait to see all of your games. Until tomorrow my friends!
