‘Super Meat Boy: The Game’ Officially Announced For iOS

Team Meat have taken to the pedastal and officially announced their upcoming title for iOS devices – Super Meat Boy: The Game.

In what might be a tribute to Indie Game: The Movie (picking at straws, we know) of which they are part of, Team Meat have announced a new Super Meat Boy game specifically for iOS devices which they are currently working on – Super Meat Boy: The Game. Now, you may recall that they sort of announced it before, but this is a big OFFICIAL announcement with capital letters and everything.

Writing on their blog, Team Meat give the following reasons as to why this is not a straight Super Meat Boy port as they would have liked to do:

“Super Meat Boy is a twitch platformer with precision controls, there was no way in hell this would work on a touch screen with buttons all over it, Super Meat Boy isn’t a game we want to make a sub-par version of just to cash in”.

That’s fair enough you may be thinking, so what the hell is Super Meat Boy: The Game then? Well, in all honesty, we’re still not entirely sure as to what Team Meat are telling us how the game will actually work, other than that it is suited to touchscreen controls. Here’s what we do know though: Super Meat Boy: The Game is a platformer and will be a little like Super Meat Boy, though everything from the gameplay to the art is entirely new. That’s about it for now.
