150 Years of Aviation in Sky Haven – an Indie Airport Management Simulator Game

Airports can be a big pain. Delayed flights, costly food and beverages, crowded security checks, and whatnot. We often curse how terrible the airport systems but what if you could really feel the troubles of building and managing an airport? What if you could learn the ropes of the aviation industry by stepping into a simulation yourself? If you wish to do so, Sky Haven is just the game for you.

Developed by Real Welders Studio, Sky Haven is an Indie Airport Management Simulator game. A unique and wonderful game play, Sky Haven lets you get an inside view of what an airport is and how it works. It allows you to check out not just modern day high technology airports but also goes back 150 years into history and shows you the first commercial flight.

Now, with Sky Haven, you can accurately simulate a real airport and construct and manage several facets of the airport such as terminals, aprons, taxiway networks, check in counters, security checks, boarding gates, and more. You also get to manage funds to buy equipment and merchandise for your carefully designed airport. You get to increase your happiness rating by providing world class service however, the smallest of inconvenience to the travelers will decrease your rating drastically.

Customizable Sandbox, Realistic Scale, and 7 Eras of Aviation

The game play of Sky Haven allows you to set up a customizable sandbox where you can set parameters as you wish. This allows you to personalize your style of play and feel more close to your carefully designed airport. The game play feels more real and amazing since the airport measurements are kept on a scale close to the measurements of a real airport. Wingspans of several types of aircrafts range between 10 metres to 80 metres; runway length can vary from 800 metres to over 3 kilometres.

You also get to host a wide variety of travelers in your airport. Be it backpackers traveling on a budget or exclusive business people traveling first class. You can manage a total of three kinds of airlines in your airport – low cost, domestic, and international. Low cost airline’s passengers are not very high maintenance. You need not build first class lounges and restaurants to cater to them. They are generally low paying passengers that are not looking for many services. While domestic flights can sometimes be less profitable, it is the international flights which you really need to give attention to. International passengers pay a lot and require loads of services. International flights also tend to be bigger in size.

What’s more interesting is that you do not simply take control of an already constructed and set up airport or a part of an airport. You design your airport from scratch – a barren land in the desert to a complete commercial airport.

Sky Haven is also unique in the way that you get to watch 7 eras of aviation build and evolve in front of you. You get to travel through each of these eras and watch how the aviation industry has changed over the last many years. You build primitive structures, learn how they have advanced over the years, reconstruct better structures and processes and eliminate the old and outdated ones. These 7 eras are – The Beginning (from 1910), Dawn of Airlines (from 1920), Noontide of Propellers (from 1940), Turbo Streams (from 1950), The Magnificence of the Sky (from 1970), Fly Everybody (from 2000), and Jet Shine (from 2020).

Coming to players worldwide in 2020

Do you think you have it in you to not just build terminals and tarmacs but also manage vast stretches of an airport and handle budgets to the smallest of things such as number of chairs in the waiting area? Would you be able to help passengers travel from one destination to the other while giving them complete value for their money and also turn profits simultaneously? Take charge of an airport down to the smallest detail and prove your prowess as an aviation expert.

Real Welders Studio have been developing Sky Haven since 2017. That is a lot of time that has been put into its development to make sure every tiny detail is captured accurately. The game has now been fully funded by Kickstarter which solidifies the news that Sky Haven is a sure shot launch for 2020. The first closed beta is planned to be launched in January 2020, the second cold beta in March 2020, and the third cold beta in June 2020. The Early Access for Sky Haven is deemed to be released in August 2020 while the full timeline and DLC Cargo is set for a December 2020 release.
