VR Tank Training – Don’t be Such a Panzer

For those interested in VR on a budget, Google Cardboard is a potential solution, offering a virtual reality experience to anyone with a smartphone and some very basic arts and crafts skills. Pop it together, attach it to an appropriate Android device, and suddenly the world of Virtual Reality is, well, a reality. Once the device is ready to go, Android users can take advantage of a number of VR-ready apps and games.

VR Tank Training is a new app from developer Digital World Studio that, predictably, puts players in control of a tank. It’s been designed specifically to work with Cardboard VR, though they claim it is compatible with similar┬áVR sets as well (perhaps the Samsung Gear VR, but we’ve yet to hear any cofirmation?). Once it’s been loaded up, players set markers and advance through a desert that has been filled with dilapidated ruins and very conspicuous targets. The goal is simply to destroy each target with the tank before progressing onward.

The game is available at a steep discount of 50% off right now, and future updates will include access to more levels, enemy tanks, fighter planes, tower defense, and other features. Those interested can pick it up for just $1.99 USD from the Google Play store. For more information about the developer and their stable of games, be sure to visit Digital World Studio’s website.
