Sometime in the early 1970s, a renowned small-town maternity hospital, previously known for its Director who worked hard and volunteered often, became the scene of a horrific murder. Worst of all, the murder was of a new-born child, and believed to have been committed by the beloved Director. He then committed suicide, leaving the circumstances surrounding these events a mystery. That is the concept behind FancySquare’s audio-visual iOS horror, Red Collars.
The role of the player is to explore the abandoned hospital and try to figure out what happened all those years ago, and, most importantly, why. In order to do this, they will be tasked with immersing themselves in the sounds of the game, which aim to create a 3-D environment that could be explored with no visuals at all. However, players should look, and do so by moving the phone around, as if they were actually standing in the environment.
Paying attention to the noises of Red Collars will apparently be crucial to solving the mystery, and, as you can see from the reaction video below, potentially nerve-wracking.
There are three endings for players to experience, depending on the actions they take throughout. There may even be a sequel already in the works, so those interested should keep an eye out for that.
