Pablo Picasso once said “inspiration exists, but it has to find us working.” Perhaps that’s the reason why Nico Sales, an ironic painter without any inspiration, has come to a standstill in his artistic career. So begins the tale of The White Canvas, a classic point-and-click adventure game developed by Spanish company Akkad Studios. Originally released on February 18, the game was created using Adventure Game Studio.
The White Canvas explores the life of Sales, who has forgotten what it means to be inspired and regards himself as a failed painter, resigning himself to the stagnation of his studio. Fortunately, things might be looking up for Sales thanks to the arrival of the mysterious Midas, the most important patron in the world who holds the key to getting Nico back on track. Players must help Nico find Midas and convince him to appraise his artistic abilities as they explore a world full of humor, irony, and painting culture.
Those eager to expand their artistic horizons and learn a thing or to about inspiration can download the game for free from the developer’s website.
