‘The Banner Saga’ Rekindling The Love Of Classic RPGs

It’s not every day that you get completely bowled over by the artwork in any game, let alone an indie game, but The Banner Saga hits the mark.

Stoic Studios just a few days ago announced The Banner Saga will be released at the start of next year.

The Banner Saga is a turn based strategy RPG that draws heavily from Norse legends, creating an interesting and compelling narrative primarily based around the Viking faction.

The artwork has all been beautifully hand-painted and helps to create a rich, interesting, and vibrant world for people to enjoy.

Of course as players work their way through the game and interact with the many characters, players can expect to influence the outcome of events. Alongside the ability to alter the game’s outcome players can enjoy over 25 playable characters from two difference races.

If you can’t wait to get into this wonderfully created world you can always play the stand alone free-to-play multiplayer version of the game, The Banner Saga: Factions which is available via Steam for free.

The Banner Saga will be released on January 14th and looks to be a fun and interesting new strategy game. You can find out more on the official site.

Raised on C&C, Theme Hospital, and Dungeon Keeper it was inevitable I would become a strategy nerd... and Sci-Fi (I love Sci-Fi). Board gaming is my second love (after video games of course). Find me on Twitter @alexwilkinson
