Tap Quest: Gate Keeper has been enjoying very positive ratings on the App Store since its release last month. In the meantime, Korean studio nanoo Company hasn’t been sitting complacently; they recently released a significant patch to the mobile title.
The game draws inspiration from classic RPGs like The Legend of Zelda and Dungeons & Dragons. The creators paired retro-style graphics with feverish, tap-action gameplay. The Hero defends a sacred tower from the onslaught of monsters. Tapping the left or right side of the screen controls movement and executes attacks at the same time. Additionally, there are up to four special moves that the Hero can unleash on the beasts. The tower helps out, as does a special follower, the Fairy. All three get stronger over time and level up, receiving new abilities.
Now, the latest patch adds a new Infinity Mode and a host of small changes. This extra mode features new graphics and sound assets. The strongest warriors can find a higher tier of equipment and a new weapon. In addition, there are a number of small adjustments to the game’s balance and reward systems.
Tap Quest originates from QUEST, a task management app with an RPG theme.
