Skullgirls Creators Announce Indivisible

Lab Zero Games, a studio known for their 2D fighting game Skullgirls, recently announced their next big project. Fans of Metroidvania-type games and the PlayStation RPG Valkyrie Profile will be pleased to hear that those elements have heavily inspired the creation of Indivisible.

The new action RPG series stars Ajna (prononced Ahzh-na), a young girl possessing mysterious powers. She sets out on a journey across the world to find out more about herself and her abilities. During her journey, she’ll be aided by a variety of other heroes who join her party, while improving her abilities to overcome increasingly challenging obstacles. If the gameplay will indeed be similar to Valkyrie Profile, that signifies traversing a 2D environment as Ajna with platformer-like challenges and striking a foe in order to initiate RPG-like combat.

The deep storyline of Indivisible is inspired by many mythologies, but mainly southeast Asian ones. As for the soundtrack, Secret of Mana composer Hiroki Kikuta is on the job.

Other than the trailer, there’s little information on the game so far. As the video shows, the next step for Lab Zero Games is a crowdfunding campaign through IndieGoGo. Answering fan questions on social media, the studio said this will happen around September 2015, while the development of the game may take about two years. They also said that Indivisible will find its home on Windows, PS4, and Xbox One.
