Developer 9th Impact wants to bring Biker Mice from Mars back to Earth in the form of an endless runner on iOS and Android. Biker Mice from Mars was an animated series that aired from 1993 to 1996. The show focused around 3 motorcycle-riding mice Throttle, Modo, and Vinnie.
“The Bros”, as they were often referred to, escaped their home planet of Mars during an invasion by the Plutarkians, a fish-like humanoid species that plunders other planets’ natural resources due to the fact that they had wasted their own. The mice land on Earth in the city of Chicago, where they meet up with a local mechanic named Charley Davidson. The mice learn that the Plutarkians have come to Earth looking to steal its natural resources as well. The head of this nefarious plot is Lawrence Limburger, a Plutarkian disguised as a human, who just so happens to run a massive corporation.
Now almost 15 years later after the final episode, 9th Impact has launched a Kickstarter campaign seeking the financial and creative support of fans in order to complete Biker Mice from Mars Rock’n’Ride. Those that contribute will receive rewards like becoming a character in the game, playing the game before release, or even an issue of Indie Game Mag (€50 tier and up) as part of Indie Game Magazine’s Crowdfunding Initiative. The Kickstarter campaign runs from September 22nd until October 20th. Biker Mice from Mars Rock’n’Ride is currently set to launch in December of this year.
