Renowned Explorers: International Society – 19th Century Exploration Game Coming To Pax East

Abbey Games recently revealed a glimpse of their upcoming project, Renowned Explorers: International Society, which has just reached the Alpha phase and is being brought to Pax East later this year for gamers to try out. The game allows players to explore the furthest reaches of the unknown world during the 19th century, using interesting internationally diverse characters and colorful cartoon designs.

Renowned Explorers is a turn-based strategy game that allows players to take command of a hand-picked group of explorers and undertake expeditions across the globe. The goal is to find priceless artifacts, fame and fortune, and bring them to the World Expo for all other explorers to see. These items can also stay within the explorers’ personal museum, which grows with each successfully collected artifact. Players will visit lost temples, untamed wildernesses, and forgotten cities, while facing off against the sometimes less than agreeable natives or wild animals. Each explorer comes from a long list of diverse characters however, allowing each their own talents to contribute during their travels. Some are more diplomatic or charming, while others can offer brute force and skill against dangerous animals.

Renowned Explorers: International Society will be at Pax East in Boston between the 6th and 8th of March, at booth 8164. The game is slated for release on Steam for PC, Mac, and Linux sometime in 2015. For more information, gamers can follow the team on Twitter or visit their Facebook page.

I'm a big JRPG fan in general, but games with a good story and great characters are what drive me. It touches the writer in me.
