Pixelated Platformer Adventures of Pip to launch on Steam

The word in Pixel Kingdom is that the revival of the side-scrolling platform adventure genre is imminent thanks to Adventures of Pip, an evolutionary platformer by Tic Toc Games. Adventures of Pip follows the story of an unlikely one pixel hero who must brave the terrors of a 32-bit world. After a successful kickstarter last year, Pip has made the journey to Steam and is set to release on June 4th.

One of the unique characteristics presented in the gameplay of Adventures of Pip is Pip’s ability to absorb pixels from fallen enemies. By doing so, he can self-evolve into three different forms with varying abilities:

  • The Featherweight: 1-pixel Pip is lightweight, small, and can squeeze through the narrowest nooks and crannies. He is also able to jump.
  • The Thrillseeker: The fastest, most agile version of all the Pips. Capable of fearsome wall jumps and a powerful punch that will send enemies flying Team Rocket style.
  • The Heavy: The strongest and deadliest Pip. Barriers and obstacles present no challenge for him as he crushes, breaks and shoves them out of his way.

Players can expect 5 whole levels of pure pixel-art adventure and up to 10 hours of gameplay. The game’s soundtrack has been composed by Jake Kaufman, who is also known for his work on Yacht Club Games’ Shovel Knight. Adventures of Pip is currently available via Steam early access and is scheduled for release on PC and Mac from June 4 worldwide. A Wii U version of the game will launch exclusively in North America on June 11. Make sure to stay up to date with Tic Toc Games via Facebook and Twitter for the latest game updates.
