Vlambeer’s rogue-like shooter, Nuclear Throne, officially launched over the weekend. After spending over two years on Steam Early Access, the game released on December 5th.
Nuclear Throne is top-down shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world where mutations are the norm. One of the key mechanics in the game involves mutating your character thanks to nearly 30 mutation options and millions of possible combinations to explore. Nuclear Throne launched with 12 playable characters, 7 worlds for players to explore, and over 80 weapons.
Talking to Engadget, Vlambeer’s co-founder Rami Ismail explained that while Nuclear Throne is complete, there might still be some extra content coming in the future.
“…there are still some things we want to tinker with,” Ismail said. “It’s been a really fun game to work on, and while we don’t want to make promises, there’ll be some small updates and the like in the future.”
Nuclear Throne is out now for PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita.
