Never Take a Word at Face Value in Typoman

Sticks and stones may break bones, but words can trap people in eternal damnation. Brainseed Factory’s newest creation is Typoman, a 2D puzzle platformer set in a dark, surreal world. Players control a tiny hero who’s trapped in a world ruled by darkness. However, despite his small size, he harbors a powerful gift: he can use letters to alter his environment.

As the player ventures forth, they find themselves on a quest to defeat the giant evil demon that has trapped them in his domain. They use words to their advantage, crafting new ones to save themselves from deadly environmental traps. However, those same words can be the player’s downfall. Anagrams are dangerous; for instance, if PART shifts into TRAP, the titular character is crushed. That’s not all; words also transform themselves into terrifying creatures who are hell-bent on ending the player by any means.

Typoman is out now exclusively on the Nintendo Wii U for $13.99 (USD). Gamers who installed the Nindies@E3 demo of the game back in June are eligible for a 15% discount at the eShop. Evan would shun you and your children if they didn’t know who shot first in Episode 4. Lover of all things geek, he spends the day trying to figure out answers to questions like is Batman a worse mentor than Green Arrow? Or Did Spider-Man really make a deal with the Devil to make everyone forget his true identity or was that just a delusion brought upon by heat stroke? In his spare time, Evan enjoys a nice martini, a manhattan or a scotch along with a good game, whether it be a MOBA, RPG, Shooter or an RTS.
