‘Limbo’ Hits iOS July 3rd, Lifetime Sales Surpass 3 Million Copies

Playdead’s hit platformer Limbo is set to release this Wednesday on iOS, and the developer has passed along impressive lifetime sales info ahead of the game’s mobile launch.

The iOS version will run $4.99 and supports iPad 2+, iPhone 4S+, iPad mini and the latest generation of iPod touch devices. The studio explains that the mobile port had the team reimagining the control scheme and implementing “extensive optimizations” – all in effort to “ensure an amazing touch-based experience.”

Along with the upcoming release date, Playdead also announced that Limbo has exceeded 3 million sales across all platforms. The game originally launched nearly three years ago on XBLA, and has since come to PC/Mac, PS3, and PS Vita. The Vita version specifically launched earlier this month as a $15 Cross-Buy title via PSN.
