Letter Quest: Grimm’s Journey Gets Remastered

Bacon Bandit Games’ Letter Quest: Grimm’s Journey was recently remastered, and is now on Steam with a 10% discount. IGM previously covered the initial release of the game back in 2014, twice. As a short recap, Letter Quest: Grimm’s Journey follows two reapers, Grimm and Rose, out to defeat a legion of monsters, ghosts, and evil bunnies. Player’s spell out words, using a random allotment of tiles; the more complex a word is, the more damage caused to the enemy monster. Certain tiles have properties that will vary the effects in battle on top of the allotted damage.

Players can choose their favorite background art, music, character, weapon, and letter tiles and see how long they can survive. Additionally, the new edition offers eight new achievements, full Mac, Windows and Linux support, fully animated enemies and shopkeepers, and a brand new soundtrack on top of the original which allows players to pick and choose their favorite tracks. Tooltips have also been added during battles, as well as a built in dictionary of over 192,000 English words that is updated frequently. The game has been fully rewritten in the Unity engine, allowing for better resolution options, a smoother experience, and heightened music and sound effects.
