Forget fighting about whether that dress is blue and black or white and gold, because French indie team Piranaking has unveiled a teaser trailer for their upcoming brawler LASTFIGHT. Originally featured on IGM in November last year, LASTFIGHT is a humorous 3D fighting arcade game that pits up to four players against each other in the ultimate smackdown.
The game takes its inspiraton from the award-winning LASTMAN comic, whose creator and ‘versus fighting fanatic’ Bastien Vivès is very proud to see make its way into an energetic teaser trailer. LASTMAN tells the story of the hard working Adrian Velba, who finally gets the chance to participate in the annual fighting tournament sponsored by King Virgil and Queen Efira. Unfortunately, just a few hours before the tournament kicks off, Adrian’s partner Vlad withdraws due to illness, leaving Adrian without a means of entry.
Described as Piranaking’s ‘first mutant baby’, LASTFIGHT has been in development for approximately two and a half years. Players will have the chance to select between 10 different characters that are playable across 8 different arenas. The trailer suggests that gameplay will consist of a timed-round system, in which players build up combos, links, and use special moves unique to each character.
LASTFIGHT is planned for release sometime in 2015 for PC and consoles. For further information prior to its release, you can follow Piranaking on Twitter, like them on Facebook, and see more stills of the game’s artistic development via the official Piranaking Instagram. The LASTMAN comic is also available for ₤11.95 from the European Book Shop for those who are interested.
