The fourth edition of the Indievelopment conference in the Netherlands is coming up in 2015, on May 15th. The student-organized event focuses on networking and presentations from speakers.
Some of last year’s conference featured panels like “Ten Tips to Start your Indie Company Today,” “Tough Coded,” and “Concept Art Session.” Jonathan Blow, the creator of Braid, was among the panelists.
“There are a lot of graduates every year,” said Bas Zalmstra, co-founder of Abbey Games and keynote speaker for the 2014 Indievelopment, “but the industry in the Netherlands is not that big. There aren’t a lot of students that get a job in the Netherlands, but you are here because this event will let you do so many things, like connect to other people, interact with the speakers and other people from the industry.”
The event gives developers a chance to showcase their games, converse, and network with aspiring students. There’s an exposition hall where indie games can be tried out by anyone. A favorite that receives the most public votes receives an award at the end of the day. Indie developers and personalities have yet to be announced for 2015.
