IndieBox’s February Announcement Contains Critically-Acclaimed Rogue-like

IndieBox, the only service that delivers boxed versions of indie games to subscribers’ doorsteps, announced its February shipment: a Limited Edition Risk of Rain.

In partnership with Hopoo Games, the developers behind the critically-acclaimed game, IndieBox is shipping 1,250 copies of this special release. It features custom box art and contains a USB game cartridge with a DRM-free copy of Risk of Rain compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux. Furthermore, subscribers receive a Steam key, a colored manual, a CD with soundtrack, and more collectibles.
RoR_WebSplash Risk of Rain is a fairly difficult, but very rewarding rogue-like. Players select from a host of ten characters and survive waves of alien inhabitants as they search for a teleporter to get them to the next planet. Packed into their arsenal are four unique abilities for every class that complement one another, and a large amount of items that boost the character. As time goes on, the enemy’s strength and numbers increase.

Current subscribers merely need to wait to receive the game, but those who aren’t using IndieBox have a deadline of February 20th in order to receive a boxed version of Risk of Rain. Check out the IndieBox website for more information and subscription deals, and stay updated on announcements via their Twitter and Facebook.

IndieBox will be attending PAX East, in Boston, MA to feature Risk of Rain and a number of their previous titles, including SteamWorld Dig ($24.99) and Rogue Legacy ($24.99). Risk of Rain was Indie Game Magazine’s 2013 Game of the Year.
