Indie Intermission – ‘Microscopia’ Magnifying The Problem

Microscopia ss01

Just like that we reach the end of the week and what an interesting week it has been covering a whole range of different games and today’s game should only add to the variety.

Microscopia is a very interesting, simple and minimalistic puzzler created by Azurenimbus, who has made some rather interesting little games that all fall into a minimalistic style.

Microscopia has been created with some very interesting visual design choices that create a game which makes you feel that you are looking down a microscope at a colony of bacteria.

The idea is to move the one which you control into the centre circular point to end the level, although determining which one is yours can prove quite the challenge.

Although the first few levels should only take a few seconds the difficulty rapidly increases and although the concept is a very simple one the execution is fantastic and makes for a very simple yet difficult game.

Microscopia is a beautifully simple game that challenges you in ways that really start to warp your mind as you try to figure out which one of these pesky little bacterium is you.

Microscopia can be played for free online.

Raised on C&C, Theme Hospital, and Dungeon Keeper it was inevitable I would become a strategy nerd... and Sci-Fi (I love Sci-Fi). Board gaming is my second love (after video games of course). Find me on Twitter @alexwilkinson
