Calling all super solvers, aspiring Sherlock Holmes wannabes, and former KGB agents: Now is your chance to shine in Mografi’s choose your own adventure mystery game, Jenny LeClue. The story follows the young protagonist Jenny through the uneventful town of Arthurton. Jenny’s blood boils for the thrill of adventure, but will she get more than she bargained for when the dean of Gumboldt University (Dean Strausberry) is found dead, and her own mother is the prime suspect!
In Jenny LeClue, every part of the game is a true detective case. Even dialogue scenes are an opportunity to explore a character’s personality, and assess whether they fall into the suspect or witness category. 2D style exploration forms the crux of gameplay, in which you solve mini mysteries to put the pieces of Dean Strausberry’s murder together, and where your curiosity is rewarded through enthralling animations. An interesting on-board feature is the inclusion of a narrator, author and jam enthusiast Arthur K Finklestein, who guides Jenny if she loses her way.
At the time of writing, Jenny LeClue has garnered $19,788 of it’s Kickstarter goal from a total of 730 backers. The game is expected to release on PC, Mac, and Linux, but plans for an iOS and a Steam launch are also in the making.
