The sequel to the hit space-themed RTS Galcon is officially getting a sequel, but its first stop is on Kickstarter. Developer Phil Hassey just launched the campaign this weekend and there’s some significant changes in this sequel.
First up, Galcon 2 will be switching from a fixed price to a free-to-play model. For those players who will be experiencing the game free of charge you’ll be able to check out the several additions to the series including quicker match-making, added clan support, a new ranking system, an in-game store, and trophies.
Galcon 2 will release on Windows, Mac, and Linux first where it will eventually see a port to iOS and the higher-end Android devices. If you’d like to secure your spot in the Galcon 2 beta next year, you can by pledging the introductory amount of $10. As of this writing, the Kickstarter campaign has already met a third of its $23,099 goal and still has 28 days to go.
Be sure to check out the Galcon 2 Kickstarter video embedded above with all the awkward hand gestures it comes with! There’s some pretty cool exclusive items for the die-hard fans out there which is worth checking out alone.
