“David is a game. A game about physics and enemies. A game about struggles and life. A game about David.”
David is a chosen hero; a tiny little square gifted a magic slingshot by a greater power. The world is rampant with evil “physics-beasts,” and David must take action against them because… well, they’re evil. Swipe back, aim, and release your slingshot to project attacks at colossal shapes– and watch them disintegrate into dozens of colours upon impact.
With platforming elements and a focus on physics-based boss-fighting, developer Fermenter calls David a mix between Limbo, Shadow of the Colossus, and Angry Birds. Don’t try too hard to visualize that though– David shares some gameplay elements with each, but its graphics are uniquely minimal.
David will feature a 9-level campiagn, a “survival/arena/rpg” mode, a “basket-ball-pit” minigame, and hats for David– all of this with more content on the way in future updates.
The game is out now on PC, (for a launch sale price of $1), and its iOS release coming shortly.
