Dimension Drive is a fast-paced shmup game packed with complex fire patterns, frantic boss battles, and a unique dual-game design feature. It is currently being developed by David Jiménez and Alejandro Santiago of 2Awesome Studio, who also work full time at the European Space Agency.
2Awesome Studio had previously worked on Dimension Jumper, a 2D vertical shmup which has now been rebooted and ported to Unity under the name of Dimension Drive. The story of Dimension Drive takes place in a universe with infinite dimensions, which are under threat of being conquered by the Ashajuls. In their way stands Jackelyne Tywood, captain of the legendary ship The Fliegende, which is capable of performing both warp jumps and dimension jumps. Players take control of Jackelyne, and must guide her safely through dual screen shooting madness that fully capitalizes on the widescreen monitors of today. There are two game modes planned, Modern and Arcade, with the latter adopting a tougher one hit-one life approach, and an additional two-player co-op mode so you can share the fun with friends and family. You can test pilot Dimension Drive right now on Windows, Mac, or Linux from the official website.
Dimension Drive is expected for release on PC, Mac, Linux, and PS Vita in 2015. For further information about the game, you can follow 2Awesome Studio on Twitter or Like their Facebook page.
