It seems difficult to look at an alpaca, which somewhat resembles a spitting sheep with bangs, and not find it cute or funny. In spite of that, they are responsible for the end of the world in Alpacalypse, a new mobile game by studio b-interaktive.
Said by the development team to be “the hardest alpaca perspective shooter you’ll ever play,” Alpacalypse is a shooter that takes inspiration from old-school arcade games and the demonstrable real-life spitting abilities of these animals. Its gameplay is similar to tower-defense games, but in a single line, and players have to move the alpaca’s neck up and down to hit enemies with a spit to keep them away.
As is typical in arcade games, Alpacalypse features power-ups and new skills depending on the progression and the movements players make with their mobile devices (for example, shaking the screen and swiping). In addition, new skins for the alpaca are unlockable during the game, including the god-tier “Al-Pacone” skin (get it?).
Alpacalypse promises a game that is easy to learn but hard to master. Those interested in trying it out can get it for free on Google Play and the App Store. For further information, visit the game’s official website or follow the developers on Twitter for future updates.
