Developer Frogmind, in conjunction with indie studios Blitworks and Frozenbyte, recently announced the release of BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition. May is geared up to be a major release month for the game, with PS4, PS3, and PS Vita versions launching on May 26 in North America, and May 27 in Europe. Windows, Mac, and Linux users will also be able to pick up the title through Steam on May 26. The Xbox One release will be ready on May 29 in both North America and Europe, with a Wii U version pulling up the rear sometime in June.
BADLAND is Frogmind’s multi-award winning sidescrolling action adventure title, initially developed for tablets. Players take flight as a strange creature called Clony, as they try to survive a plethora of dangerous traps, puzzles, and obstacles in a twisted forest.
The Game of the Year Edition adds redesigned controls intended to suit consoles and PCs. The Steam version will feature up to four player local competitive or cooperative modes, compatible with a single keyboard, multiple controllers, or any combination in between. Additional content has also been added to include over 15 hours of total gameplay, which works out to 100 levels of single-player story, 100 co-op levels, and 27 different multiplayer deathmatch stages.
Players can purchase the title for just under $10 in North America, with Europe and UK versions costing just under $12. Those interested in the Steam copy can expect a discounted sale price upon release.
