5TH Cell have partnered with Fig to fund their new PC project Anchors in the Drift, which has recently entered full production. Anchors in the Drift is a free-to-play action RPG that allows players to customize their fighting style by combining cards unlocked through progression or purchase. The game is set in a universe where an inter-dimensional empire has invaded Earth, scattering civilizations from different times across a quantum ocean known as the Drift. Heroes, or Anchors, must liberate these lands.
5TH Cell is best known for Scribblenauts, a Nintendo DS title that won Best of E3 in 2009, making it the first portable game to ever do so. Other titles include Drawn to Life and Run Roo Run.
Fig’s CEO says, “Anchors in the Drift is one of those rare titles from a proven developer that we just had to work with. Gamers deserve to enjoy this game.” Fig partners with indie developers to help them attract investment from private players as well as larger companies, while allowing the developers to retain all creative control. Donations from $1 can earn investors awards in the campaign, which launched on October 21st and has already raised nearly 20 percent of its goal.
Anchors in the Drift is set to release for Windows in Summer 2016. 5TH Cell is aiming to raise $500,000 USD by the end of November 2015. The campaign, and more detailed game information, is available on Fig. For more information, check out 5TH Cell’s website, Facebook, or Twitter.
